Schjerfbeck X Nordea Art Foundation Finland 14.11.2026–3.1.2027

Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) was a pioneer of modern art and one of Finland’s most esteemed artists. The exhibition presents five works by Schjerfbeck from the Nordea Art Foundation Finland’s collections. They span nearly her entire artistic career, offering glimpses into its various phases. On display are, among others, the early work At the Door of Linköping Jail in 1600 (1882), which belongs to her historical series, and the more modern, spiritual portrait Silence (1907).

Lähikuva henkilöstä, jonka silmät ovat suljettuina ja katse alaspäin. Vaalea kasvot muodostavat pehmeän kontrastin tummaan taustaan. Hahmolla on vaalea yläosa ja tumma, sileä hius, joissa näkyy sivussa vaalea rusetti. Maalaus on sävyiltään hillitty, sinertävän ja harmaan vivahteinen.
